President Jokowi inaugurates Muntilan-Keningar road based on the Presidential Instruction in Magelang regency, Central Java province, Monday (01/22) (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat)

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (01/22) inaugurated the Muntilan-Keningar road section based on the Presidential Instruction at Sukomakmur village in Magelang regency, Central Java province.

“The Muntilan-Keningar, Sukomakmur road section is an evacuation access for people around Mount Merapi. I have inspected it and today it has been completed,” the President said.

The Head of State went on to say that the budget of the regional road in Indonesia based on the Presidential Instruction in 2023 reached Rp14.6 trillion. The Government has budgeted Rp1.36 trillion to repair and build 40 road sections in Central Java province.

“In Magelang regency alone, four road sections spanning 18.2 kilometers have been inaugurated with a budget of Rp31.9 billion,” he added.

President Jokowi further said that this road section was built with rigid concrete, not with asphalt.

“This road is often passed by large sand trucks. It is our hope that the road will be more durable,” he remarked.

Furthermore, the President also expressed hope that other roads in Central Java province will be better for mobility. Thus, he will inspect other roads in the province during his Central Java working visit. (KS/UN) (AP/MUR)
