President Jokowi Decided to Help WNI ex East Timor outside NTT of Rp 10 million/KK

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has decided to provide a grant of Rp 10 million/families (KK) for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) ex East Timor, who live outside the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The decision was taken when President Jokowi lead Limited Meeting to discuss on the resolution regarding the assistance for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) ex East Timor, who live outside the province of East Nusa Tenggara, which was held at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Thursday (18/6).

Communications Team of President, Teten Masduki, in a press release on Thursday (18/6) expressed based on existing data until now there are as many as 20,266 households (KK) of Indonesian citizens (WNI) ex East Timorese living outside the province of NTT.

“Determination of the parameters of the aid recipients, referring to Presidential Decree No. 25 of 2003, on Population Data Collection Ex province of East Timor; and Presidential Regulation No. 72 Year 2011 on the Action Plan for the Implementation Recommendation for Commission of Truth and Friendship of the Republic of Indonesia and the Democratic Republic Timor Leste as a legal basis for the implementation of aid,” Teten said.

President Jokowi, Teten continued, instructed the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture in coordination with the Ministry of State Secretariat, Cabinet Secretariat, and Ministry of Finance, and other related institutions to process the legal protection in accordance with the legislation as the basis for awarding compensation to the Indonesian Citizens (WNI) ex East Timor outside NTT Province.

In addition, the President also advised that no cuts or misappropriation in the process of delivery of aid. “Therefore, assistance should be given directly to the beneficiary, not through third parties,” Teten said. (ES)
