In South Africa, President Jokowi Attends BRICS Summit

Following his visit in Africa, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attended a BRICS Summit held at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa, on Thursday (08/24) at 10.35 local time or 15.35 western Indonesian time. President’s attendance at the Summit was to take up an invitation as Chairperson of ASEAN.

In addition, on the sidelines of the Summit, the President also held bilateral meetings with leaders of other countries.

After attending the BRICS Summit, the President and his delegates in the afternoon will head to O. R. Tambo International Airport to depart for Indonesia.

Also accompanying the President in his visit in Johannesburg were Coordinator Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa Saud Purwanto Krisnawan.
