Thousands of labors from across Indonesia gathered at the National Monument (Monas) compound to commemorate the 2025 International Labor Day (May Day).
The event not only served as a platform for workers to voice their aspirations but also as a moment for President Prabowo Subianto to express his appreciation for them.
Among the participants, Hendi, a worker from the neighboring city of Bekasi, shared that he was deeply moved by the Government’s show of care—particularly from President Subianto. He felt the President genuinely demonstrated a commitment to listening to workers’ concerns and wished him good health to continue carrying out the people’s mandate.
A similar sentiment was echoed by Ria, a worker from Garut in West Java, who attended the event alongside thousands of her colleagues. She expressed hope that her participation would contribute to positive change for workers.
“All of my coworkers—about 1,400 people—came to this event. I’m delighted because it’s my first time attending, and I had the chance to meet the President. I hope the promises he made will come true,” she added.
Another worker, Muhammad Syaifudin, experienced an unforgettable moment when he received a hat directly from President Prabowo Subianto.
The 2025 International Labor Day commemoration at Monas was marked by workers’ passionate enthusiasm, hope, and gratitude. The event also highlighted the strong bond between the Government and the labor force, along with a shared optimism for building a better future. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RAS/EP)
