New Nusantara Team to Hoist National Flag in Nusantara Capital

The “New Nusantara” team of the National Flag-Hoisting Troop (Paskibraka) has been assigned to raise the Red-and-White national flag during the first-ever Commemoration Ceremony of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Nusantara Capital, Saturday (08/17).

“This morning at 07.00 AM, we held a ceremony to designate the Paskibraka team and Commander of the Paskibraka company for the flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies. We have assigned the “New Nusantara” team for the flag-raising, and the “Advanced Indonesia” team for the flag-lowering at 5 PM local time later today,” said Brigadier General Bayu Permana, Chief of Staff of Kodam VI/Mulawarman, who will also serve as the Ceremonial Officer.

New Nusantara team consists of high-school students from across the archipelago, including:

  1. Livenia Evelyn Kurniawan, a representative from East Kalimantan province, as the flag bearer in the Paskibraka team. She is currently a student at Santo Fransiskus Assisi Catholic High School, Samarinda.
  2. Fifandra Ardiansyah Daud, a student at State High School 1 West Halmahera Barat from North Maluku province, appointed as the Commander of Group 8.
  3. Try Adyaksa S, a student of State High School 1 Parepare from South Sulawesi province, as the flag hoister.
  4. Akmal Faiz Ali Khadafi, a student at State High School 4 Semarang from Central Java province, entrusted with the task of spreading the flag.
  5. Andre R.O. Kabagaimu, a student of State High School 1 Wamena and representative from the Highland Papua province, appointed as the Commander of Group 17.

Meanwhile, Colonel Inf. Nur Wahyudi has been designated as the Commander of the Commemoration Ceremony. Captain Mar Muhammad Adam Septian Keulana will serve as the Paskibraka Company Commander.

Brigadier General Bayu also mentioned that the preparations for the ceremony have been meticulously carried out through several rehearsals, including the first and second dry runs, the rehearsal, and the final dress rehearsal. These preparations have been made to ensure that the protocol troops and Paskibraka are in optimal condition and ready to fulfill the duties entrusted by the nation to them.

“We hope that the protocol troops and Paskibraka are in prime condition today and ready to carry out their duties, fulfilling the mandate given by the nation during the proclamation ceremony and the lowering of the Red-and-White national flag,” he explained.

The 2024 Paskibraka, whose members are representatives from 38 provinces of Indonesia, were previously inaugurated by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (08/13) at the State Palace, Nusantara Capital.
