President Jokowi Applauds Solidity Between TNI, Polri

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo asserted that before the holy month of Ramadan begin, Indonesia experienced a series of acts of terrorism, that happened in Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and other areas. Those acts have claimed the lives of many civilians, as well as police apparatus.

When people are in need of protection and security, particularly in this holy month of fasting, the President is grateful that the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and Indonesian National Police (Polri) are united in solidity to protect the country, the people, and nation against terrorism.

“We are at ease when the TNI and Polri are solid,” President Jokowi said in an iftar (communal break-fasting) with families of TNI/Polri personnels, and the community, at the Headquarters of TNI, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/6).

On that occasion, the President also mentioned that a remarks delivered together by TNI Commander and Polri Chief in that event proved the solidity between them.

President Jokowi believes that the people is joyous that the TNI and Polri are solidly sharing resources, ideas, energy, sweat, and courage for one purpose, namely protecting all people, the whole community, and our homeland, Indonesia.

Joining the event were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR-RI) Bambang Soesatyo, Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Army Chief of Staff Gen.
