President Jokowi: Dont Let Business Players Wait and See
President Joko Jokowi Widodo reminded all ministries and agencies not to let investors, business players wait and see. The President mentioned that anytime they are asked regarding the investment, their answer is always to wait and see. This means that if there are problems, then resolve them at the Ministerial level, President Jokowi firmly said when giving an introductory remarks at a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (2/10) afternoon.
The President asserted that the business world should be supported, facilitated, and assisted. Given, it is they accounting for 60-70 percent who can open jobs and solve problems related to infrastructures. “So when it comes to investment, please pay attention to it,” the President firmly said.
Earlier in the beginning of his introduction, President Jokowi stressed that those affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung and Mount Agung are maximally assisted from all sides.
In relation to Rakhine State and refugees in Bangladesh and Myanmar, according to the President, the Government is also committed to continue helping our brothers and sisters who are facing the hardship.
Regarding the 2018 State Budget, President Jokowi asked to focus more on solving problems related to, first, poverty. “The budget related to poverty is to be really noticed and added,” the President said. Second, when it comes to unemployment, this will be related to investment and others. Third, related to inequality, according to the President, starting this October, issues on social forest and the opening of Micro Wakaf Bank will be discussed.
The Plenary Cabinet Meeting was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Ministers of Working Cabinet, TNI Commander Gen.
