President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo welcomed the visit from the 5th President of Republic Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (21/11). After shaking hands, President Jokowi asked Megawati to have lunch together inside the Merdeka Palace.

To the waiting journalists, President Jokowi said, although he frequently meets Megawati, but paying a visit to each other like this is a good habit. “Communicating like this is an effective way to find a number of solutions for the existing problems,” President said.

President explained that in the meeting with the Leader of Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDI-P) they discussed about macro economy issue, things related to our national politics, and social affairs issues.

Moreover, according to President, he and Megawati also discussed about things related to the regional elections (Pilkada), which will be conducted simultaneously in 101 regencies, municipalities, and provinces. (FID/ES) (SU/LW/Naster)
