President Jokowi in Jambi to Distribute Direct Cash Assistance

On the first agenda of his Jambi working visit, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo Thursday (04/07) headed to New Angso Duo Market in the provincial capital of Jambi to distribute Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for cooking oil to beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH).

“This morning I visited Angso Duo Market in Jambi city in Jambi province to distribute the BLT for cooking oil amounting to Rp300.000,- (per beneficiary) which is expected to ease the burden and provide subsidy for people, especially street vendors selling fritters,” the President said in his press statement after inspecting the market.

The Head of State also expressed hope that the assistance will not only be distributed in Jambi province, but also in all provinces throughout Indonesia, adding that the assistance is expected to be received by beneficiaries at a maximum of one week before Eid.

In addition to the BLT for cooking oil, another assistance distributed by President Jokowi to beneficiaries during his working visit was Working Capital Assistance (BMK) amounting to Rp1.2 million for each beneficiary with the assistance aiming to increase business capital, working capital of beneficiaries

On that occasion, President Jokowi and First Lady Ibu Iriana also distributed the BLT to vendors at the market. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/EP)
