After attending the 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo headed to Merauke, Papua Province for a working visit.

The President and his entourage left Singapore on Thursday (15/11) at 18.50 Local Time.

Arriving at Mopah International Airport, Merauke, Papua Province on Friday (16/11) at 01.20 Eastern Indonesia Time, the President and Mrs. Iriana were welcomed by Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Police Chief of Papua Inspector General Martuani Sormin, and Regional Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Force (Pangdam TNI) Major General Yosua Pandit Sembiring.

Also welcoming President at the airport were Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) General Police Tito Karnavian, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Special Staff to the President Lenis Kagoya.

From the airport, the President is scheduled to begin the working visit in Merauke on the next day.

Accompanying the President and Mrs. Iriana during the working visit to Merauke were, among others, Coordinating Minister for maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Special Staff to the President Adita Irawati. (BPMI/EN)
