President Jokowi Kicks Off Papua New Guinea Visit

After paying an official visit to Australia, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (07/05) headed to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea for another official visit.

The President and his entourage had a flight from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport to Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport using the Indonesian-1 Presidential aircraft.

In Papua New Guinea, President Jokowi is slated to have a meeting with the Governor General of Papua New Guinea Bob Dadae. Afterward, the President is scheduled to attend a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea James Marape.

“We had an invitation from Prime Minister James Marape,” the President said in his statement at Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Monday (07/03).

The President will also attend a business forum meeting with entrepreneurs in Papua New Guinea and launch an inaugural flight of the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia’s low-cost subsidiary, Citilink, for the Denpasar-Port Moresby route. (BPMI SETPRES/UN) (RI/MUR)
