President Jokowi Recommends General Agus Subiyanto for TNI Commander

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo last week recommended Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Agus Subiyanto as a candidate for Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) r to the House of Representatives (DPR).

According to the President, General Agus fulfills all aspects to be nominated as TNI Commander.

“We submitted it approximately a week ago. First, he was Deputy Army Chief of Staff, then became the Army Chief of Staff. Based on his years of experience, I think he fulfills all aspects, including the territorial, administrative, and academic aspects,” the President said to the press at the Nusantara Capital (IKN) Toll Road construction project area in North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province, Wednesday (11/1).

As for the next position of Army Chief of Staff, President Jokowi has not decided yet.

According to the President, he is still waiting for approval from the House of Representatives regarding the nomination of General Agus as TNI Commander.

For the record, General Agus Subiyanto previously also served in a number of positions, including III/Siliwangi Military Commander, Commander of the Presidential Security Details (Paspampres), and 061/Surya Kencana Military Commander.
