President Jokowi, Speaker of ROK National Assembly Discuss Measures to Boost Cooperation
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday afternoon (01/18) held a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Kim Jin-pyo at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta.
During the meeting, the President and Kim Jin-pyo discussed efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries which has been implemented for 50 years.
Speaking to the reporters after the meeting, Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani said: “During the meeting, we talked about how good the relations between the Republic of Korea and Indonesia have been implemented for 50 years. 2023 becomes the momentum to further advance and strengthen relations between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea.”
In trade sector, Puan expressed hope that the ratified Indonesia-Korea Comprehensive Agreement (IK-CEPA) would be implemented on 1 January this year to further advance and improve trade cooperation between the two countries in the coming years.
Indonesia and the Republic of Korea also hoped that peace and harmony on the Korean Peninsula can be maintained, she added.
