President Jokowi Spends Night at New Capital

Following the visit to the ground zero of New Capital of Nusantara (IKN) in Penajam Paser Utara regency, East Kalimantan province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana Jokowi Monday (03/14), headed to a campsite to spend the night.

The campsite is about 2.7 kilometers from the ground zero and tents are available also for ministers and entourage.

Upon arrival, the President engaged in conversation with Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Investment/Chairperson of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, Chairperson of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and Vice Chairperson of IKN Authority Dhony Rahajoe.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono in his press statement in Balikpapan, Sunday (03/13) said that preparation to meet the needs of the President during the stay has been made in a simple manner, without compromising the security aspect.

Meanwhile, Commander of the Presidential Security Detail Major General Tri Budi Utomo explained that apart from physical security, prevention efforts against wild animals and diseases, especially malaria, have also been made. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (FI/MMB)
