President Jokowi Tells President Putin to Ensure Security for Ukraine’s Food Export

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and President of Russia Vladimir Putin Thursday (07/01) held a bilateral meeting at Kremlin Palace in the Russian capital of Moscow.

The President announced that he had a discussion with President Putin on food and fertilizer supply chains that are facing disruption following the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In his joint press statement, President Jokowi expressed appreciation to President Putin, who will ensure security for food, fertilizer supplies from both Russia and Ukraine.

The Head of State also underscored Indonesia’s support for the United Nations’ measures to re-integrate food and fertilizer products from Russia and Ukraine into the global supply chain.

According to President Jokowi, Indonesia does not have any interest but to see the war comes to an end and food, fertilizer, energy supply chains be recovered immediately.

“I call on all country leaders around the globe to join hands to live up the spirit of multiculturalism, peace, and collaboration. Only with the spirit that peace can be achieved,” he remarked. (UN) (AP/EP)
