President Jokowi Visits Rehabilitation of Landslide-affected Areas in Bogor

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (3/2) inspected rehabilitation of landslide-affected areas in Harkat Village, Sukajaya Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java.

The rehabilitation including construction of gabion wall as sediment barriers was conducted by Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

On the occasion, President Jokowi also greeted local residents who enthusiastically witnessed the visit. Afterwards, the President inspected the Village’s nursery which was built for environmental rehabilitation and disaster management.

For the record, there are 90,500 plants and trees grown in the nursery, including 20,000 Mahogany trees, 3,000 Albizia Chinensis (Sengon), 12,000 Gmelina trees, 8,000 Maesopsis Eminii trees, 10,000 polybags of Vetiver, 7,500 Macadamia trees, 6,000 Archidendron Pauciflorum (Jengkol) trees, 6,000 Pometia Pinnata (Matoa), 6,000 Parkia Speciosa (Petai) trees, 4,000 Durian trees, 8,000 Soursop trees, and many other plants.

Accompanying President Jokowi in the visit were, among others, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, and Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil. (FID/EN)
