President Jokowi Wish AIIB, Finance the Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects

President Jokowi accompanied by Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning / Head of Bappenas receives AIIB leadership, in the President’s office, Jakarta, Wednesday (4/11) afternoon

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expects the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will finance that projects large-scale infrastructure. This expectation was delivered by President Jokowi when receiving AIIB President Jin Liqun, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (4/11) afternoon.

“His commitment, in principle they are ready. We immediately prepare the list, and they are ready,” said the Minister of Finance, Bambang Brodjonegoro told reporters after accompanying President Jokowi receives the AIIB leadership.

According to the Minister of Finance, AIIB will begin operating in January. However, they have expressed their readiness to finance the large-scale infrastructure projects in Indonesia.<

“The nominal, has not been submitted, as they will begin the operation in January. The important thing is they are ready,” Bambang said.

Glad to See Indonesia

According to the Minister of Finance, the President of AIIB, Jin Liqun come to Indonesia to see the development of investment under the leadership of the new President, Joko Widodo.

“They are happy to see the progress of the Indonesian economy,” Bambang said.

Regarding the project, which offered to be financed by AIIB, the Minister of Finance said, could as for the development of remote areas, such as energy management, the provision of electricity supply, transportation, provision of drainage, urban development, roads, railways.

“This cooperation will cover things that are very important for development in Indonesia”, the Minister of Finance explained.

Regarding the comparison between AIIB with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the minister said that AIIB more directed at the development of basic (DID/JAY/ES)/Sy.
