Education is the key determining factor for the nation’s future, according to President Prabowo Subianto.
In his remarks at the Commemoration of the 2025 National Education Day and the Launching of the President’s Quick Win on Friday (05/02), the President underscored the importance of making education the key priority in the national development program.
Additionally, the President also conveyed that no nation can achieve welfare and development without a quality education system.
“It’s impossible for Indonesia to become a welfare country, a developed country, if our education system is poor and unsuccessful,” stated the President in his remarks at the Cimahpar 5 State Elementary School in Bogor City, West Java Province.
Moreover, the Head of State also stated that the Indonesian Government has prioritized the education sector by allocating 22% of the State Budget (APBN) to it, the highest in Indonesia’s history. However, the President warned that the implementation must be on target.
The President also conveyed the importance of accelerating the improvement of education infrastructure. The Head of State unveiled the big challenge in improving the facilities in a short time, with the number of schools in Indonesia reaching hundreds of thousands of units.
“If we want to fix eleven thousand schools now, it will take thirty years. This is unacceptable, thirty years is too long,” the President said.
“We have to fix as many schools as possible in the shortest time,” the President added.
Therefore, the President ordered all stakeholders to use this momentum to build Indonesia through education. The President expressed belief that with good governance, the people’s needs will be fulfilled.
“The State Budget must be managed and utilized only for people’s needs. Therefore, I believe we can accelerate the improvement of the priority sector, including improving the infrastructure of schools all over Indonesia. This is our goal,” the President concluded.
