President Prabowo Welcomes Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen at Merdeka Palace

President Prabowo Subianto received an official visit from the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, on Monday (05/05).

Upon his arrival at the palace, Senate President Hun Sen was greeted with a welcoming ceremony. He was escorted by 50 cavalry personnel and 11 motorists from the National Monument. Around the palace grounds, 100 students waved the national flags of the two countries, making the atmosphere livelier.

President Prabowo welcomed Senate President Hun Sen’s arrival at the west wing of Merdeka Palace. The welcoming ceremony began with the reverberation of the national anthems of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Indonesia, Indonesia Raya, and a 19-gun salute.

Following the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders conducted an inspection of the ranks of honor and introduced delegates from each country.

The Indonesian delegates present at the ceremony were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia Santo Darmosumarto.

Afterward, President Prabowo and Senate President Hun Sen walked into the Credential Room for a joint photo session and the signing of the state guest book. The two leaders then had a tête-à-tête at the office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

After that, President Prabowo and Senate President Hun Sen attended a bilateral meeting with other delegates. The visit was concluded with a state banquet at the Oval Room at Merdeka Palace. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/MUR)
