Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inspection of the Release of Car Export at Patimban Port, Subang Regency, West Java Province, March 8, 2022
Assalamu’alaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
This morning, I accompanied by His Excellency Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Kanasugi Kenji, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, inspect the Patimban port that has been in operation since December 2021, three months ago.
I really appreciate that the car export from the Patimban port continues to increase. Previously, we have set a target of approximately 160 thousand car units to be exported from here, but after seeing the progress in the last three months, it is expected that the target can reach 180 thousand car units to be exported to the Philippines, Brunei, Japan, and Vietnam. I notice that it is an initial step. [The number of car export] will further be increased to other countries so that it will reach 150 thousand car units that can be exported in one month.
These will be great. It means that our national industry continues to grow. Amid COVID-19, we continue to export. And it is our hope that it will greatly affect national economic growth and create more employment opportunities.
That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion.
I thank you.
