Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia during Inspection of Mass COVID-19 Vaccination, 11 June 2021, at the Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang City, Central Java Province

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

As we are all aware, activities and interaction between people at the Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, Central Java Province are very high, ranging from loading and unloading activities, ship movements, passenger movements to activities of officers at the port.

To that end, this afternoon we are vaccinating 1,000 people and later this week the vaccination will reach 4,000 people. We hope that the acceleration of this mass vaccination can protect officers, public servants, and workers at the Tanjung Emas Port and we hope it can create herd immunity.

With this effort, we hope that all of us can curb the spread of COVID-19 and eliminate it.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion.
