Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

May prosperity be upon us all,

Om Swastiastu,

Namo Buddhaya,

Greetings of Virtue.

Ladies and Gentlemen, my fellow citizens,

I would like to deliver a very important message regarding our safety. We are aware that in the last few days, COVID-19 pandemic has developed very quickly due to a new strain that has generated a serious problem in many countries. The current situation requires us to take more decisive measures so that we can tackle the spread of COVID-19.

After reviewing a lot of recommendations from the Ministers, health experts, and also regional heads, I have come to a decision to impose Emergency Activity Restrictions (Emergency PPKM) from 3 July to 20 July 2021, specifically in the islands of Java and Bali. The Emergency PPKM will include stricter restrictions on community activities compared to the existing ones. I have ordered Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment to explain the detailed information regarding the implementation of the Emergency PPKM.

I appeal to the public to maintain self-discipline in complying with the restrictions for our safety. The Government will use all available resources to contain the spread of COVID-19. All state apparatus, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) – the Indonesian National Police (Polri), as well as state civil apparatus, doctors and health workers, must join hands to tackle the pandemic. Ministry of Health has been taking necessary measures to continue to increase capacity of hospitals, centralized isolation facilities, as well as the availability of medicines, medical devices, and oxygen tanks.

I called on all Indonesian people to remain calm and stay vigilant, comply with existing regulations, remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, and support the work of government officials and volunteers in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. With good cooperation from all of us and with the blessing from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, the Almighty God, I believe we can suppress the spread of COVID-19 and restore people’s lives in the near future.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
