President Prabowo Subianto outlined the government’s strategic measures to accelerate the recovery of basic infrastructure and improve public services.
The announcement was made during his inspection of flood-affected areas in Kutacane, Southeast Aceh Regency, on Monday (12/01).
The Head of State explained that the government has allocated a special budget to reinforce village facilities and regional infrastructure.
“Alhamdulillah, we have secured the budget. We are implementing significant efficiency measures at the central government level to maximize aid and channel as much support as possible to our primary targets: the people at the grassroots, in the villages and sub-districts,” he stated.
Regarding infrastructure damaged by the disaster, the President affirmed that the government will promptly repair vital routes affected by the flooding.
This step is deemed crucial to restore regional connectivity and ensure that community activities can return to normal.
“We will immediately reopen cut-off roads and repair damaged bridges,” the President said.
During the visit, the President also inspected the operational public kitchens and other emergency facilities set up to meet the needs of the affected residents.
The government, he added, is also making efforts to accelerate the establishment of cooperatives in every village to ensure more effective distribution of subsidized goods.
“Therefore, these government-subsidized goods will go straight to the people. Without any intermediaries in between, they will go directly to the citizens,” he continued.
In addition to basic infrastructure, President Prabowo also conveyed the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education services in the affected areas.
Concluding his remarks, the President expressed appreciation for the community’s resilience and offered his prayers for the well-being of the residents.
“Insya Allah, in the future we will do our best for Alas Leuser, for the people here. We will fight for the people here so that they will experience an improvement in their overall welfare,” he affirmed. (BPMI SETPRES) (AP/TM)
