President Jokowi Reshuffles Cabinet

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (17/1) reshuffled his Cabinet.

The President appointed Idrus Marham, replacing Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa, who runs in the East Java Gubernatorial Election.

Also exiting the Cabinet is Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, whose post is handed to former Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Moeldoko.

In the meantime, the Chairman of Veterans Assoiation (Pepabri) Agum Gumelar is sworn in as member of the Presidential Advisory Body (Wantimpres) replacing the late Hasyim Muzadi and Air Marshal Yuyu Sutisna is inaugurated as Air Force Chief.

Idrus Marham’s inauguration is based on Presidential Decree Number 10/P of 2018, while Moeldoko’s inauguration is based on Presidential Decree Number 11/P of 2018 dated 16 January 2018.

Moeldoko as Presidential Chief of Staff is based on Presidential Decree Number 1/P of 2018 dated 16 January 2018 replacing Teten Masduki, has equal rights and facilities as ministers.

Agum Gumelar’s inauguration is based on Presidential Decree Number 12/P of 2018 while Air Marshall Yuyu Sutisna’s inauguration is based on Presidential Decree Number 2/TNI/2018.

Yuyu Sutisna replaced Hadi Tjahjanto, who was previously inaugurated as Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI).

In conjunction with his inauguration, based on Presidential Decree Number 3/TNI of 2018, Yuyu Sutisna’s rank is promoted as Marshal.

Also attending the inauguration ceremony were former President Megawati Soekarnoputri, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Health Nila F. Moeloek,  Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Oesman Sapta Odang, Attorney General Prasetyo, TNI Commander Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Tito Karnavian.
