It Takes Time, Persistent, Hard Work to be Successful Entrepreneur: President Jokowi
During his working visit in a Garut Regency, West Java, on Friday (18/1), President Joko Jokowi Widodo visited booths owned by participants of Mekaar program, which stands for Membina Ekonomi Keluarga Sejahtera (Fostering the Economy of the Prosperous Family) from state-owned community development institution PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), in Cibatu Square, Garut Regency, West Java, Friday (18/1).
On that occasion, the President expressed happiness because there have been more than one million recipients of this Mekaar program in West Java, particularly women. He also stressed that in order to be a successful entrepreneur, one must work harder and be disciplined, starting the business from super micro, micro, small, to higher level and so on.
I am so glad that there are five recipients who have passed the Mekaar program and entered the KUR program funded by state-owned lender Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). You may also join the program funded by state-owned lender Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) or Bank Mandiri, said the President.
The President also said running a business takes persistent and hard work and suggested to upgrade the business, from selling meatballs to opening stalls and restaurants. He also reminded the participants that the loan money should be used for productive uses.
