President Jokowi in Merauke to Inaugurate New Border Post

As part of his working visit to Papua province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Sunday (03/10) headed to Merauke regency onboard Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1.

Upon arrival in the regency, which is located in the far south of the province, the President is slated to inaugurate the regency’s new Mopah Airport terminal by signing an inscription as a sign of inauguration.

The President is also slated to continue his trip to Sota district onboard the Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter to inaugurate the Sota Cross Border Post, which marks the border between the Indonesian province of Papua and the neighboring Papua New Guinea.

Afterwards, President Jokowi is scheduled to visit Merauke Regent’s Office to inspect the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive for the public and students.

The Head of State is also scheduled to inaugurate General L.B. Moerdani Hospital in Margamulya district. (BPMI/UN) (EST/EP)
