President Jokowi accompanied by a number of ministers meet with entrepreneurs members of JETRO, in Hotel New Otani, Tokyo. Tuesday (24/3) morning

On the third day of his official visit to Japan, Tuesday (24/3), President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with Japanese business community.

On Tuesday (24/3) morning at 09:00 local time, President Jokowi already started meeting with the entrepreneurs who are members of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), at Hotel New Otani, Tokyo.

During the meeting, Chairman of JETRO Hiroyuki Ishige submits a report on the implementation of the Business Forum and the activities of JETRO cooperation with Indonesia.

President Jokowi delivered a speech at the official banquet at the residence of the Prime Minister of Japan, in Tokyo, Monday (23/3) night

After hold the bilateral talks, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana and the entourage on Monday (23/3) night, were invited to dinner with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, at the Dining Hall, the residence of Prime Minister of Japan, in Tokyo.

In his speech, President Jokowi on behalf of the government and people of Indonesia thanked profusely for the warm welcome of Prime Minister Abe and the Japanese government to him, the Ministers, as well as Indonesian delegation.

President Jokowi said that in next April, diplomatic relations between Indonesia – Japan will be aged of 57 years. “Relations between the two countries are very close and very harmonious, for that we nurture that this cooperation is more increasing,” he said.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on the second day of the visit in Japan, Monday (23/3), held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister (PM) of Japan Shinzo Abe, at the office of Prime Minister of Japan (Kantei), Tokyo.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe formally welcomed the arrival of President Jokowi and expressed his gratitude for visit of President Jokowi to his country. “This meeting is the second meeting, which is expected to contribute to the cooperation between the two countries,” he said.

While Jokowi President expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Abe on the previous meeting had done when in Beijing, China, last year. Furthermore, the two heads of state witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and carried out a joint press statement in the Small Conference Room floor 3.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana begins the series of state visit to Japan on Monday (23/3), with paid a courtesy call to the Imperial Palace, Tokyo.

The President and First Lady as well as the entourage arrived at the Imperial Palace at 11:35 local time (2 hours earlier than Jakarta), and welcomed by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the front entrance of the Imperial Palace.

On the occasion, the President and the entourage will officially acquaint, and then continued by lunch with the Emperor and Empress.

“The Government and people of Indonesia to pray that the bereaved family, the Government, the nation and all the people of Singapore are given strength and fortitude in facing an atmosphere of grief at this time,” President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said in a press conference at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, Japan, Monday (23/3) morning.

President Jokowi who was on a state visit to Japan said that the deceased-former Singapore Prime Minister is having proximity to the Indonesian nation, known as the Founding Fathers of modern Singapore.

President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana were welcomed by the cold weather upon arrival at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, Sunday (22/3).

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo as well as the entourage arrived at Haneda International Airport, Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday (22/3) evening at 21:45 local time, the time difference between Tokyo (GMT + 9) with Jakarta +2 hours.

When landing at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, President Jokowi and First Lady were picked up by the Head of State Protocol of Japan, Jun Yamazaki and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan Yusron Ihza Mahendra. The air temperature in Tokyo is reported quite cold, at about 7 degrees Celsius

Furthermore, the President and the entourage towards to the hotel for a rest and the next day will begin a series of activities of the working visit and the state visit while in Japan.

He said, Nyepi Day has significance to reflect on the nature and contemplate the meaning of life in this mortal realm. Nyepi Day, he added, is a means of reflection and self-evaluation to cleanse the soul of all forms of behavior that is not good, the mind that does not clear, words inappropriate.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime, Indroyono Susilo, ensure that the seven processing plants and purification (smelter) worth 1.4 billion US dollars as part of efforts to down streaming, is ready to operate in 2015.

“Seven new smelter are ready to operate, consisting of an aluminum smelter and six nickel smelter,” Indroyono said after attending a coordination meeting to discuss about mineral and coal sectors in Jakarta, Wednesday (18/3) evening.

Indroyono said that with the smelter means that Indonesia could gain added value from the down streaming process, which in the long term will be beneficial to boost national export sector.

The 6 (six) new ambassadors of friendly countries who submit the credentials are:

1.  Dr. Trevor Donald Matheson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand;

2. Judit Nementh-Pach, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary;

3. Paul John Grigson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia;
