After over a week visits to several countries in Asia, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana arrived in the home country on Sunday (29/3) night around 18:30.

Arrival President Jokowi and First Lady at Halim Airport, Jakarta, welcomed by a number of state officials, including Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Mrs. Mufidah, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal, and Security Tedjo Edhi Purdijatno, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Indroyono Susilo, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, TNI Commander General Moeldoko, Deputy Chief of Polri Komjen Badrodin Haiti, and Governor of Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok.

As reported previously since Sunday (22/3), President Jokowi accompanied by First Lady Iriana and a number of Work Cabinet Ministers has visited a number of countries in Asia, namely Japan, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Malaysia, and Singapore.

President Jokowi Attend the Wedding Reception of Prime Minister Najib’s Daughter

After a working visit to Japan and China, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana, took time stop by in Malaysia to attend a wedding reception of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s  daughter, Nooryana Najwa with Daniyar Kessikbayev, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Saturday (28/3) night.

President Joko Widodo and the entourage departed from the International Airport Sanya, Hainan, at around 16:00 local time, and arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, Saturday (28/3) at around 19:05 local time. Upon arrival at the airport KLIA, President Jokowi and his wife, Iriana, welcomed by local officials.

On the second day of his visit to Beijing, People’s Republic of China (PRC), Thursday (26/3), President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana and the entourage, review the integrated mass transit system that connects the subway, fast trains, buses , and the international airport.

In addition to the review, the President Jokowi also tries the fast train that departs from Dongzhimen subway station to the terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport, which takes about 30 minutes, faster than by car or taxi that can reach 1 hour when traffic is smooth or not jammed.

After flying for about 2 hours 45 minutes from Nagoya, Japan, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), First Lady Iriana and his entourage arrived at the Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA), the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Wednesday (25/3) evening at 16:45 local time.

The Arrival of President Jokowi and the entourage were welcomed by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhen Min, China’s ambassador to Indonesia Wang Tan, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the PRC Sugeng Rahardjo and Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing. Then President Jokowi and the entourage headed to the Hotel St. Regis, for a rest and stay overnight while in Beijing.

“I need to say that Indonesia is not in the disputing parties there. We just want to encourage the Code of Conduct can be implemented, and obviously the finalization,” said President Jokowi when intercepted by journalists at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, Tuesday (24/3).

The president said, if it is necessary, Indonesia is ready to be a good mediator, related to the South China Sea dispute. “I just saying that,” he said.
