President Jokowi Urges Ministers to Remove Sectoral Ego

In a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (9/4) afternoon, President Joko Jokowi Widodo stated that the key to run the economy other than the state budget (APBN) in order that the economy develops more in quality is investment and export.
Therefore, President Jokowi reaffirmed, each ministry and institution related with investment and export should focus more on improving business climate and raising competitiveness. I will ask for reports from every ministry (on) how many regulations, restrictions, permission have been cut, the President uttered, while adding he has received only two reports from Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Minister of Agriculture.
The President also reminded that coordination and consolidation are keys of all governments tasks. Remove sectoral ego, particularly ministrys ego, head of institutions ego, he stressed.
Cross ministry and institution or regional policies or programs, the President added, must be jointly discussed and coordinated, allowing to shape a solid and useable policy for the advancement of the country.
The Plenary Cabinet Meeting was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B.
