President Jokowi Welcomes PM Justin Trudeau at Merdeka Palace

President Joko “Jokowi” Tuesday (05/09) received an official visit from Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. In Jakarta, PM Trudeau is slated to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related Summits taking place on 5-7 September 2023.
The Prime Minister was directly welcomed by President Jokowi in the front of Merdeka Palace Ground.
Afterwards, a welcoming ceremony was conducted, consisting of reverberating national anthems of both countries and an inspection of the ranks of honor.
Before entering the Merdeka Palace, the two leaders introduced their respective delegations. The leaders then entered the credential hall in Merdeka Palace before having a veranda talk at the back terrace of the Palace.
Also attending this event were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Investment/Head of Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno. (FID/UN) (SS/RAS)
