Indonesia, Jordan Deepen Strategic Relations through State Banquet
A warm and dignified atmosphere filled the State Palace as President Prabowo Subianto hosted King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for a state dinner as an essential part of the series of the state visit on Friday evening, (11/14). Under the magnificent lights of the banquet hall, the two leaders reaffirmed their long-standing friendship and solidarity that have endured for more than seven decades.
The dinner began with an official remarks from President Prabowo who expressed his honor and pleasure for the presence of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein along with the Jordanian delegates in Indonesia. “It is an honor and pleasure for me to welcome Your Majesty along with the distinguished Jordanian delegates back to Indonesia,” said President Prabowo, emphasizing the significance of the visit which reflects trust and sincere friendship between the two countries.
President Prabowo said Indonesia views Jordan as a key partner in advancing international peace and a steadfast ally in supporting the Palestinian cause. He also emphasized that ties between Indonesia and Jordan are not merely formal diplomatic relations, but rather a bond rooted in deep brotherhood that must be preserved for future generations.
“Consider us more than partners; we share a strong bond of brotherhood and friendship. This bond must be preserved in the future,” said the President.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for being welcomed back with extraordinary hospitality in Jakarta. The King also emphasized that Indonesia holds an important position in the global Muslim community, especially in its diplomatic role during difficult times.
“We have always viewed Indonesia as a vital part of the Muslim community. Indonesia’s role in international affairs, especially under your leadership in these difficult times is crucial,” he said.
The King stated that his presence in Indonesia was not only as a head of state, but also as a brother seeking to strengthen the historical ties between the two nations. He said that Jordan’s assistance to Indonesia during the difficult time was a manifestation of true brotherhood.
“This is what brothers do for each other and this has not changed. I am very pleased to be back here to strengthen not only the physical ties between us, but also between our two countries,” he said.
For a record, this state dinner banquet was not only an official welcome but also a symbol of the deep solidarity and historical ties between Indonesia and Jordan.
