Indonesia, Australia Reinforce Comprehensive Strategic Partnership During President Prabowo Subianto’s State Visit

President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (11/12) conducted a tête-à-tête meeting with Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese at the Kirribili House, Sydney, Australia.
The meeting was part of the President’s agenda during his state visit to Australia aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
Upon arrival at the Kirribili House, President Prabowo Subianto was personally welcomed by PM Albanese. A warm and friendly atmosphere was felt during the welcoming moment, reflecting close personal bonding between the two leaders.
Following the welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo Subianto signed the official state guest book as a gesture of diplomatic respect.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders walked together to the sitting room to have a tête-à-tête.
In a friendly and productive atmosphere, the tête-à-tête was held behind a closed door, underscoring the importance of this strategic discussion between the two heads of government.
This tête-à-tête served as an important momentum for both countries to deepen their cooperation across various sectors, especially in the fields of economy and development, people-to-people relations, defense and security, as well as maritime affairs.
Besides strengthening the partnership foundations that has spanned more than seven decades, both leaders also focused on regional stability in the Indo-Pacific and on enhancing the capacity of strategic industries at the bilateral level.
As widely known, the partnership between Indonesia dan Australia which was previously at the level of a Comprehensive Partnership based on Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Partnership signed on April 5, 2005 was elevated to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) that was signed during the visit of the Prime Minister of Australia to Indonesia on August 31, 2018.
President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to the Kirribili House reflects Indonesia’s commitment to continuously fostering a foreign relations based on equal and mutually beneficial partnership.
