Press Statement of Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya regarding “Palace for Students” Program, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 7, 2026
Cabinet Secretary (Teddy Indra Wijaya)
So today, Tuesday (04/07), executing President Prabowo’s initiatives, we launched the “Palace for Students” program. As you already know, one of the President’s priority programs is investment in human resources to build and create a high-quality young generation.
The program includes nutritious meals, school renovation, toilet improvements, digital TV installation for school learning, and People’s Schools, Integrated Schools, and Garuda Schools. In addition, we have also prepared incentives for teachers, and so on, and today, we opened the Palace’s doors specially for students, our future generations.
So, what did we offer? We had discussions and continued with question-and-answer sessions in the auditorium. Then, they had a tour around the complex to learn more about the nation’s history and governmental concepts and ideas. We also invited them to visit the Palace, where the major decisions of the country are made. This program aims to boost their motivation to dare to dream for the country.
In the future, the program will not only be available in the Merdeka Palace and the State Palace [in Jakarta], but also in other Presidential Palaces across Indonesia. We have eight palaces in total, and each of them will be open for students. For those from outside Jakarta or Java, we will assist them to come here. We invite every school to submit the application to the Ministry of State Secretariat or the Cabinet Secretariat to visit the Palace.
We will select the applicants and the selected ones will be invited to visit the Palace in turn, maybe once or twice a week. This is Mr. President’s initiative, the “Palace for Students” program. We can see from them that they are very enthusiastic. Most of them admitted that this was their first experience visiting the palace.
Journalists
Are there any selection criteria for schools?
Cabinet Secretary (Teddy Indra Wijaya)
No, there are no special requirements. Any school can apply. Well, actually, the Ministry of State Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat regularly receive school visits by elementary, junior high, and senior high school students. Mr. President once saw this visit, and he initiated opening the palace for them. Seeing is believing; by personally seeing, they will have first-hand experience.
In sha Allah, this program will inspire them. I reaffirm that there are no special requirements, so please submit your applications. We have assigned officers to arrange the schedules.
Many students have given their testimonies. It was their first time to see the President’s workspace, and also other rooms used to inaugurate ministers, to sign major documents, and to welcome guests and invited people. In essence, Mr. President opens the Palaces for people, during Islamic holidays and other religious holidays, and for students.
Thank you everyone.
