Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that President Prabowo Subianto has completed a series of overseas visits that began on Friday (9/19). The President’s extensive overseas trip was primarily to attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the United States.

“President Prabowo Subianto has completed a series of overseas visits, primarily the 80th UNGA. In the past six days, he visited four countries,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in a statement broadcast on the Cabinet Secretariat’s official social media accounts on Saturday (9/27).

Japan was the first country that President Prabowo briefly visited through his visit to Indonesian Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025. Teddy said based on a report from the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency Rachmat Pambudy, investment commitments totaling US$23.8 billion, or approximately Rp380 trillion have been secured from the five-yearly event.

Furthermore, in the United States, President Prabowo had the honor of delivering an address at the UNGA at the third place after Brazil and the United States. Cabinet Secretary said President Prabowo’s speech before 193 UN member states received much appreciation and admiration from world leaders.

“Bold, decisive, and concrete. You can see that the US President, the Canadian PM, and the King of the Netherlands praised him. And this morning, President Macron called him directly to express his appreciation and pride in the President’s speech,” he said.

In addition, President Prabowo also met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who reaffirmed his support for the development of Indonesian youth football academy. “Soon, on October 9th and 12th, if I’m not mistaken, the Indonesian national team will be competing in the fourth World Cup qualifier. It won’t be easy but it’s not impossible for Indonesia to qualify for the World Cup. We hope that those matches go according to plan and are conducive,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

Then, the President’s brief visit to Canada also yielded strategic achievements. Although the Head of State did not stay overnight, he was received in person by Governor General Mary Simon and met with Canadian PM Mark Carney. On that occasion, Indonesia and Canada officially signed the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA).

“The point of the agreement is that Canada will remove 90.5 percent of tariffs on Indonesian goods and products. This will certainly have a very positive impact on Indonesia’s import trade,” said Teddy.

From Canada, President Prabowo then headed to the Netherlands. This visit was special, as he was received not only by King Willem-Alexander, the Head of State of the Netherlands, but also by Queen Máxima at Huis ten Bosch Palace in the Netherlands. The official meeting marked the strengthened bilateral relations between the two countries, including the Netherlands’ agreement to return approximately 30,000 historical Javanese objects and artifacts, as well as fossils and documents belonging to Indonesia.

“It was also agreed that the Dutch Government will return 30,000 fossils, artifacts, and cultural documents belonging to Indonesia stored here. It will soon be carried out; perhaps tomorrow the Minister of Culture will finalize it and those will be returned to Indonesia,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

“The process will likely be swift because the King of the Netherlands has already agreed upon it. This repatriation process has actually been ongoing for a long time, but Alhamdulilah (thank God), it was successfully agreed upon, and it will be returned to Indonesia,” he concluded.
