Chinese Premier Li Qiang Arrives in Indonesia for Three-Day Official Visit

Chinese Premier Li Qiang Saturday (05/24) arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta at 3:21 p.m.
His arrival marks the beginning of a three-day official visit to Indonesia, scheduled to take place from May 24 to 26.
Premier Li was welcomed with a guard of honor lined up at the foot of the aircraft to offer an official salute. He was greeted by Minister of Investment and Head of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (IICB) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong, and Indonesian Ambassador to China Jauhari Oratmangun.
Following the brief welcome ceremony, Premier Li and his delegation headed to their hotel to rest ahead of the evening’s agenda.
His first official engagement in Jakarta is a meeting with Indonesian business leaders, set to take place later tonight.
On Sunday, May 25, Premier Li is scheduled to meet with President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, with the visit beginning with a formal welcome ceremony.
Presidential Secretariat Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media Yusuf Permana said in a written statement that following the welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo and Premier Li Qiang are scheduled to hold a tête-à-tête, followed by a bilateral meeting with members of their respective delegations.
Upon the conclusion of the meetings, the two leaders are expected to witness the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the two countries, followed by a joint press statement to outline the key outcomes of the discussions.
In addition to meeting with President Prabowo, Premier Li Qiang is also scheduled to hold several internal meetings during his stay in Jakarta.
Indonesia and China have maintained diplomatic relations for more than seven decades, with dynamic cooperation continuing to grow across various sectors. This visit is expected to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. (BPMI SETPRES) (AP/EP)
