Although theTime is Very Short, President Jokowi Asks the 60th Commemoration of Asian-African Conference Well Prepared


President Jokowi entered the meeting room in order to lead the preparatory meeting of the 60th Commemoration of KAA, in Bogor Palace,  Tuesday (17/2)

Although preparation time for implementation of the event only 6 (six) weeks, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asks that the implementation of the 60th Commemoration of the Asian-African Conference (KAA)”, and the 10th Commemoration of the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP) well prepared.

“I think there is still enough time for us to prepare well,” the Head of State said.

Present in the meeting, among others, Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno; Cabinet Secretary, Andi Wijayanto; Chief of Presidential Staff, Luhut B. Pandjaitan; and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, AM. Fachir.

President: Let’s Build Good Communication, Don’t Tell “No Comment!”

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, inviting the entire Work Cabinet Ministers to attend the Plenary Cabinet Session, which was held at the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java, on Monday (16/2) night.

When giving an introduction, President Jokowi said that the meeting was intended to discuss the first 100 days or three months of his government, both in the process of working, as well as in the consolidation process of the organization.

“In the evening we will be evaluating a bit, and also some things that are also related with the governance structure and relationship, ranging from the President, Vice President, Coordinating Minister etc., to the Ministers, Governors, Regents/Mayors, and others,” President Jokowi said.

Government of Indonesia and PT Freeport Indonesia agreed to the construction of processing and refining plant (smelter) in Papua, which is located in the industrial area of Timika.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said during a visit to Timika, Sunday (15/2), said that the agreement of purification plant construction in Papua is an integral part of national smelter development programs.

“We build national capacity and will soon set up a national study team,” said Sudirman when reading the results of the deal to reporters.

The Government recognizes, until now, the problem of land acquisition remains a main obstacle in the development of infrastructure in Indonesia. To overcome this problem, the government discourse for the establishment of the land bank in Indonesia.

Minister of Finance, Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro said, the establishment of land bank is needs to be done immediately to improve the government’s sovereignty and ensure the development of infrastructure projects can be run properly.

With the land bank, Bambang said, later, the institution will make the purchase of land before infrastructure development projects begins.
