Good afternoon, Sir. What are your thoughts on the inauguration, and what message would you like to convey?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto):

I think today we are very happy that the Silaturahim Tunnel between Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral in Jakarta has been inaugurated. This is a significant symbol. It was proposed during President Jokowi’s tenure, and he approved its construction. I believe it serves as an important symbol that interfaith harmony is an absolute necessity for Indonesia as a nation and a state.

For hundreds of years, we have been living side by side in peace and harmony, and we must preserve this for the future. Our nation is made up of hundreds of ethnic groups, diverse religions, and different communities, but all have worked together over the years to build this country. Every ethnic group, every religion, every community, and every race has a stake in this republic, a stake that has been paid for with blood, sweat, and tears.

I think that’s the message from this event. We must safeguard peace and harmony, help one another, support one another, and protect one another. Our nation will succeed, rise, and prosper. Thank you.
